Melo Alves was founded in 1995 and has litigation as the main pillar of its activity, which they consider an advantage in a changing market. They want to expand, but maintain their origins and international ambition, focussing on Angola ‘for now’, but with an eye on the other PALOP countries and their relationship with China.
In the year in which Melo Alves celebrates its 30th anniversary, partners Bruno Melo Alves and Cláudia Leonardo, in an interview with Jornal Económico, share the firm's current and future ambitions.
"Our idea is to remain a legal boutique with a very cohesive group of partners made up of people we trust. And to grow a little this year in areas other than the traditional areas of Melo Alves, which is litigation and which will always be litigation. The core of Melo Alves will always be litigation."
