Partner Cláudia Leonardo is the lawyer of the month in the June edition of Advocatus.

Cláudia Leonardo recently joined Melo Alves, becoming the first woman to be a member of the firm's college of partners. She told Advocatus that female representation is playing an increasingly ‘important role’ in attracting and retaining talent.

Regarding arbitration, she believes that it is ‘a proven, highly effective alternative dispute resolution mechanism, especially in particularly complex disputes, due to the speed, specialisation and confidentiality that it can bring to the resolution of disputes, especially when compared to the courts’.
