Carlos Melo Alves analysed the latest developments in the case involving the Minister for Internal Administration

Criminal lawyer  Carlos Melo Alves commented on SIC Notícias regarding the legal procedure, which has been standard practice for over 40 years, whereby the State uses seized assets.

To suggest that the minister is linked to drug traffickers is utter nonsense,” stated lawyer Carlos Melo Alves.

The State’s use of seized assets has been provided for since 1980. It has recently come under discussion again because of a car seized in a drug-trafficking case, which the Minister for Internal Administration, Luís Neves, began using whilst he was still national director of the Judicial Police.

And here is the interview on SIC Notícias.
