Carlos Melo Alves  wrote an article marking the 30th anniversary of Melo Alves with a reflection on its contribution to the development of case law:

"MELO ALVES is celebrating its 30th anniversary! 

I can think of no better way to sum up this journey than our contribution to the development of case law in the defence of citizens’ fundamental rights, reaffirming our commitment to placing human dignity at the heart of legal practice.

Over the course of three decades, our guiding principle has been the consistent defence of our clients, thereby protecting citizens and, in doing so, the justice system itself and the legitimacy of our institutions".
