Inês de Azevedo Camilo, an associate lawyer at Melo Alves, commented on TVI's Jornal Nacional regarding the recent decision by the Coimbra Court of Appeal on financial compensation in a divorce proceeding.

At issue is a ruling that ordered a man to pay 45,000 euros to his ex-wife, a landmark decision that recognizes the economic value of domestic work performed throughout the marriage.

"Domestic work has economic value," the lawyer emphasized in her analysis.
