Bruno M. Cardoso joins Melo Alves’ Asian Desk

Melo Alves has strengthened its Asian Desk with the addition of Bruno M. Cardoso, who joins the team as an Associate.

Bruno M. Cardoso will advise on immigration and international mobility, foreign investment and nationality matters, including residence permit applications, visa applications and Portuguese nationality proceedings.

According to Jorge Chang, Partner at Melo Alves and Coordinator of the Asian Desk, “his experience and connection to the Asian market, combined with his knowledge of immigration, mobility and foreign investment, are an asset to the growth of the Asian Desk and the firm. We believe he will contribute to providing closer support to foreign investors in Portugal.”

Prior to joining Melo Alves, Bruno M. Cardoso was an Associate at ASA Lawyers, where he developed experience in immigration, international mobility and foreign investment. He also worked as a Lawyer at Reis, Malheiro e Associados, where he advised on nationality proceedings and administrative law matters.

As part of his international experience, he participated in the specialisation programme at Shanghai Business School, focused on Sino-Portuguese cooperation in international markets, in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. He also participated in the Residency & Citizenship IREX programme in New Delhi, focused on global residence and citizenship programmes, with a particular focus on Portugal.

Bruno M. Cardoso’s arrival strengthens the Asian Desk’s ability to advise international clients and investors, particularly on matters relating to their establishment and business activities in Portugal.
